San Diego Trip August 2013 - Seaworld

We got a good deal on Seaworld tickets along with our hotel.  We could go as much as we wanted up to 5 days, so we ended up going two days.

We saw Franklin! :)

The Shamu show is always fun:

Except we sat in the soak zone and ....got soaked. ;)

We watched the dolphins swim under water:

I love the sting rays pool where you can touch the sting rays:

Sting rays are fun to watch swim too.

Parker and Isaac tried this challenge where they were supposed
to climb to the top of these ladders without falling off.
Parker came SO close!

Dad and Quinn went on the raft ride, but Quinn was too little, so we watched.

There they go!

Bryce and Quinn loved the Elmo ride!

The dolphin show!  So fun.

They combined the dolphins with an aerobatic/bird show.

Shark tank!

Flamingos are just fascinating.  So cool and unique looking.

More sting rays.

We went on a virtual-reality helicopter ride through the arctic.
Here's a real helicopter that Quinn thought was cool.

The polar bear was sleeping in the shade.

Then he woke up and walked around.

We watched them feed the... Belugas? I think?

The big ol' walrus was cool!

Especially when we got to watch him swim!

The boys playing in this pretend ice cave:

The pet show is fun (and funny) to watch.

We saw the penguins.

And a sea lion show that was really cute.

These herons (?) were just waiting for people to drop fish they
were feeding to the sea lions.

The boys wanted to go on the raft ride again.

Holding star fish!  So cool!

We got to touch sea urchins too.

cool looking fish:

Josh and Bryce on a ride:

This was a little teacup ride:

San Diego Trip August 2013 - Great Grandpa, Nana, Temple, & Battalion

We debated on where to go for our family vacation this summer.  We had wanted to go to Yellowstone, but it didn't end up working out (hard to find lodging and expensive).  We ended up finding some good deals for San Diego, so decided to go there!

My photos from this trip got a little mixed up somehow, and since it's been so long ago, I can't quite remember which day we did what.  So I am going to post them more in categories of what we did.  They may not be quite in order. :)

Josh's Grandpa and his wife (Nana) live part of the year in San Diego and were there when we visited, so we got to spend some time with them.  One of the first days we met them at the San Diego Temple.  Such a pretty temple!

Quinn wasn't quite sure about Great-Grandpa at first. :)

But he warmed up pretty quickly. :)

After we saw the temple, we went to Old Town to see the Mormon Battalion Museum.
Such a cool place to visit!

Nana and the boys in a covered wagon:

Isaac got to try on some of the Battalion clothes and gear:

After the tour we got to try panning for gold:

Even Grandpa tried it out. :)

Bryce was more interested in the well

Grandpa took us to lunch, then we went to this little park by the beach to play.

Later in the week Great Grandpa and Nana invited us over to their house to go swimming in their pool and have some lunch.
