Thanksgiving Weekend

For Thanksgiving, we went to Loa to spend it with my family.  My brother Tim and one of my sisters, Cammie and her kids were able to be there too.  I didn't get a single picture of actual Thanksgiving, but we had a great dinner.  I contributed to the meal with garlic brussels sprouts, pretzel jello salad, French silk pie, and a cheesecake (I can't remember what kind it was - haha!).  There was lots of other yummy food too. :)

Quinn had fun visiting Grandma's horses.

He loved Grandma's kitty, Louie, too.  I'm not sure Louie was too fond of all the attention though. :)

The day after Thanksgiving, we headed up to Boulder Mountain to find our Christmas trees!
There wasn't a ton of snow and it was nice and sunny.  Perfect tree-hunting weather. :)

After we walked around for awhile and checked out a few different trees, we found the perfect one!

 Timber!

After it was cut, Josh tossed it up on his back and carried it back up the hill to my parents' truck.
We were laughing because he looked like the Grinch carrying off the Christmas tree. :)

It looked so funny, like a tree with legs. :)

It was such a beautiful day.  We stopped at one of the lookouts points on the way back.

We grabbed some sandwiches at Subway on the way home and stopped at Sunglow
to have a picnic and go for a little hike (yay, one more hike in for the year - in November of all months!)

Snow in November

The first time it snowed this winter, Quinn and I went outside and Quinn took one look at the snow on the ground and said, "Uh-oh". :)  He didn't know what all that white stuff on the lawn was!

He soon learned that it was pretty fun to play in.  We had our first big snow in November and the boys had lots of fun playing.

Josh piled a bunch of snow onto the deck stairs and made a big snow slide to sled down!

We laughed when Quinn laid flat on his back to go down.  It looked so funny. :)

And to end the post, a cute one of Quinn.  He lined all of his "hee-hees" (horses) and other toys up on the edge of the bath.  :)

Halloween 2012

A couple of days before Halloween we had our annual family Halloween Party.  Josh's parents and his sister and her family came, and my mom and my sister and her family came.  It was fun to have so many be able to come.

Parker as Iron Man:

Josh was Mitt Romney:

Bryce was Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba:

Quinn was a sock monkey:

My niece Sydney as Minnie Mouse:

My sister Cammie and niece Briley as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Baby:

Josh's parents were Fred and Wilma Flintstone.
Josh's nieces Ivey (not sure) and Mila the ballerina:

Josh's sister Melissa was a bird:

Isaac was Captain America.  He made his own shield!

Josh's nephew Kekoa

Josh's nephew Luke:

My mom was Tweedle Dum to go along with Cammie's Tweedle Dee:

Me as a clown:

We had some fun Halloween foods.  My traditional "finger" cookies,  pumpkin pretzels (pretzels dipped in orange chocolate), deviled egg eyeballs, sausage mummies, and then veggies with dip and salsa with black and orange chips.

We made the deviled eggs to look bloodshot on the outside.
Didn't end up having time to do the bloodshot look on top though.

On Halloween day Cammie and her girls came down to Trick or Treat with us.  My mom was still up visiting her, so she came too.  We had lots of fun!  We just love our neighborhood for Trick or Treating.  Lots of people participate and have their houses decorated and it's just fun.  The weather was super nice.  Perfect Halloween!

Almost forgot to post pictures of the kids pumpkins they carved!  Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of them until later when they were starting to look a little wilty.

Beginning of October 2012

Another beautiful Sunday drive.  I just love when the mountains are just coated in red and orange. :)

In October our roses started blooming again and were SO pretty!

I tried out a new muffin recipe - Pumpkin cream cheese muffins.  They were really yummy!

This is the quilt that we did in quilt group this year.  It was fun, but I wasn't completely happy with how mine turned out. Ah well. :)  This one was hard to envision the end result for some reason, so hard to choose colors for.  I'm learning!

Josh made a big step with his business in October.  He moved his office out of the house, and started renting an office on Main Street.  It's much easier for him to get all his work done without the distractions of a home office.

Quinn and I went down to the office one day and Quinn had so much fun playing in a big box Josh had there.  He would go inside and close it, then come popping out.  So cute. :)

We were so excited to actually get a couple of buttercup squashes from our plants this year!  They are our favorite squash.  Most years they don't develop before it gets too cold.  They were yummy!

One day I heard Quinn in the other room saying "Help!" (Bryce taught him that - haha).  I went in and he was sitting on the computer desk.  :) :)

And here he is peeking out from the porch railing.
