Fun in April

One day I looked out my window and saw two little black ninjas running around. :)

For a fun project one day, Josh and I made a big water bag for the kids to play on.  We duct taped two big pieces of heavy plastic together and filled them with water.  The kids had lots of fun playing on it, especially Isaac and Parker.  Quinn wasn't too sure about it at first, but then decided it was pretty cool. :)

Quinn sure loves our kitty Whitney!  We have some little windows by out back door that are low enough for Quinn to stand at and look through.  He loves to stand there and look at the kitty through the window. :)

One day the kids had hot dogs and used regular bread instead of buns.  They got some toothpicks and made them into butterflies.

Quinn wearing Daddy's hat.

We went down to visit my mom and dad and also to go see my sister's new baby, Bentlee.
It was a nice weekend.  The kids had fun playing in Grandma's sandbox.

Quinn got to sit on the horse.  He was crying, but not because he was scared - because I wasn't holding him.  Gotta love that age.  Silly boy. :)

Easter 2012

The day before Easter we met up with my parents and my sister and her kids at Yuba Reservoir.  We had a barbecue picnic.  We all brought our own things to barbecue then shared side dishes. Josh and I barbecued shrimp kabobs, brussels sprouts kabobs and portabello mushrooms.

After we ate, we had a couple of Easter egg hunts around our picnic spot.  The kids also had fun flying some little mini kites that we brought.  It was a fun day!  The only down side was that Quinn ended up coming down with a fever and wasn't feeling very good. :(

Isaac and Parker were sitting on a blanket eating lunch when all of a sudden, Isaac jumped up.  A little scorpion had decided to join their picnic!  It was kind of cool to see it since you don't see scorpions everyday.  Luckily we saw it before it stung anyone though!

That night after we got back, Quinn's fever was quite bad and we couldn't get it to go down for anything.  It was scary!  We called everyone we could think of and finally found one neighbor who could come over and help Josh administer a Priesthood blessing on Quinn.  We eventually
got the fever to go down to a less scary level.

We did finally get around to helping the kids dye some Easter eggs.

Even little Quinn got to dye one before he went to sleep.  Poor guy.

On Easter Sunday, Quinn was still pretty sick.  Josh and the other boys were able to
go to church, but I ended up staying home with Quinn and taking him to InstaCare.  It was a bad virus.
Despite everything, we were thankful to be together celebrating the resurrection of our Saviour.

Happy 1st Birthday Quinn!

On April 5, we celebrated Quinn's first birthday!  He opened presents in the morning and
had a lot of fun doing it!

He got a fun toy that blows balls out of the top and then
they slide back down.  He also got some toy trucks, and a toy cell phone.

He also got a book, a shirt, and a sock monkey from
Grandma and Grandpa Chappell.  Later, he got
a sleeping bag from Grandma and Grandpa Bell.

He had lots of fun playing with his new toys.

I made a monkey for Quinn's birthday cake.

He didn't want to wait for silly things like candles and birthday songs. :)

He thought it was pretty yummy when he finally got to eat some.

We sure love our little Quinn!  He's been such a fun addition to our family and we can't imagine it without him.  At age one he was already saying lots of little words: Isaac, Dad, all done, hat, hug, kitty,
binky, light, banana, and of course "num-num". :)  It's so fun to hear their first little words and see them understanding more and more.

March 2011

And miscellaneous for March!

Need something to keep a baby entertained for a few minutes
while you get something done? :) :)

Bryce having fun on the trampoline.  He got really staticy!

One night in March we had a homemade sushi night.
One of our favorite activities.  So much fun - and yummy!

Quinn - 11 months old - ready to eat his veggies.

Oops - Bryce got a hold of a marker and drew all over Quinn's face
before we caught him.

Quinn sure loves unloading the dishwasher..............onto the floor. :)

We had our first hot dog roast of the season in March.
Gotta love the backyard firepit!

We had a big wind storm one night, and our poor
trampoline didn't survive it this time. :(

Josh was putting together a table one day.  He ended up with lots
of helpers!

Another piano picture!  Quinn sure has fun with it.

February 2012

More miscellaneous pictures - this time for February!

Quinn loves his bananas!  He would eat several a day if we let him. :)

For Isaac's Blue and Gold Banquet we had to decorate a cake with
a camping theme!  Isaac made a tent out of graham crackers and frosting,
a campfire made from pretzels, candy, and candy rocks, and I helped him
make some pine trees out of ice cream cones.  He added a couple of
Lego guys to roast candy hot dogs and fish over the fire.  Haha
He won "Best Outdoor Theme" for his cake.

For Valentine's Day, Parker's class got to make their own
Valentine box.  They could make anything they wanted
using their imagination.  Parker made a tiger box!  It turned out
really cute.

This year I made the kids each their own pillowcase for Valentine's Day.
They were fun to make!  Bryce got a dinosaur one, Parker got a dolphin one,
and Isaac got a scorpion one.  (I didn't make one for Quinn).

I also made them each their own big Valentine cookie.

Quinn and Parker playing the piano one Sunday after church.
Parker's such a big help with Quinn.  He loves taking care of
him and playing with him.

One day the kids were getting some ice cream
and set the lid of the ice cream container down on a chair.
Meanwhile, while no one was paying attention, Quinn
climbed up and tried to lick the ice cream off the lid.
We couldn't help but laugh at his face.
