Kindergarten Graduation

Isaac graduated from Kindergarten yesterday. I swear the school year goes by MUCH faster when you're the parent! They had a little program at the school. I ended up waking up with the stomach flu and had to miss it! I was really upset. :( Luckily Josh was able to record the whole thing for me though, so I still got to see it. They sand some songs and read some little stories as a class then had a slideshow of all their activities. Last they handed out "diplomas". Isaac even won an award (they didn't announce awards, just had them rolled up in their diplomas. He won the Brainy Bookworm award.. haha.. very appropriate. I don't have any pictures of the program itself. Our camera ended up dying (even though I had just put brand new batteries in it...grrr). So I took a pic of Isaac in his cap when he got home and then we have the video of it. We're so proud of Isaac! He done so well in Kindergarten. He has really been sad that school is over for the year. He just loved Kindergarten and his teacher Mrs. Hyer. I'm going to try to get a picture of him with his teacher when we go in for his assessment next week. If I do, I'll add it here!

Bryce's Preschool Program

Bryce goes to a special-ed preschool that's in the school district. They actually have two classes - a Mon/Wed class and a Tues/Thurs class, but Bryce goes to both. SO he got to do two programs! The first day, Bryce had a hard time staying in his chair because he saw all the fun cameras and cell phones that all the parents had (lol), so he kept getting up to check them out and to come see me. Finally they decided to just let him sit on his aide's lap. They did a little story about ladybugs and all wore a ladybug hat. Bryce ripped his hat with seconds of it being put on his head. They had a backup hat for him, but he ruined it too. Luckily I somehow got a picture of the second one before he got it (above). After that they sang a few songs. It was cute to see Bryce get so excited about each song and do the little actions. Here are some pictures of him doing the songs. The first one is of him clapping during Bingo, and the second one is The Wheels on the Bus. They were singing "the mommies on the bus say shhhh shhhh shhh. He kept putting his fingers on his nose and doing a blowing sound. LOL! It was pretty funny.

The second program the next day was basically the same, but they did a couple of different songs. Bryce sat in his chair really well this time and had fun doing the actions of the songs again. He even sung along a little with Bingo and ABCs.

This is a picture of Bryce and his teacher Miss Nicole. She's been a great teacher!

Pinwheel, Pinwheel Spinning Around!

On Tuesday, Isaac's Kindergarten had a little store. They each had to bring 10 homemade things to sell for 5 cents each along with 50 pennies to buy things from other kids. Isaac decided to make pinwheels to sell. He did a great job! He did all of the cutting and folding, and I helped him with the pinning. He had a lot of fun doing their little store.

Josh's Birthday

Josh turned 28 on May 18th. I think he had a fun day, although Parker ended up with a tummy ache, so we didn't end up doing everything we had planned for the day (namely a hike). The kids woke Josh up early so he could open his birthday presents.

The boys just HAD to get their dad a light saber for his birthday. They (especially Isaac) have become HUGE Star Wars fans. It was so cute because they were SO excited for Josh to open his light saber and they had their own sabers ready to pull out so they could play with him.

After the boys got home from school, we went to lunch at Ginger's Garden Cafe (Josh's choice). Here's a picture of Josh with his lunch (nice salad huh?) ETA: In case you're wondering, Josh does have a black eye! He got hit in the face while playing basketball a few days before!

That evening Josh's parents and sister came over for a bit. For the past month or so, Josh has been eating partially raw (uncooked food), so I made him raw cupcakes for his birthday. They were really good! The cupcake is made from pecans, dates, & cocoa powder, and the frosting is made from young coconuts and agave. Weird, but good!

We did the "cake" while his family was here, so we ended up doing it before dinner. For Josh's birthday dinner he chose raw tacos. We made the taco shells out of raw corn, raw red peppers, and a few other things. They also had raw "refried" beans made out of sunflower seeds, and raw salsa and guacamole. They were pretty good.

Cupcakes!

Last week Josh and Isaac went on a field trip to the zoo with Isaac's Kindergarten class. I am so zoo'd out this year since we've already been twice in the past year, so I asked Josh to go with him (Josh didn't go with us the other times). What a good dad! He forgot the camera though, so we don't have any pictures of their trip. They had a lot of fun though. While they were gone on their fun trip, Parker, Bryce and I decided to make some lion cupcakes! We had fun making the cupcakes and decorating them. Even Bryce frosted and decorated a cupcake. They turned out pretty cute!

Mother's Day

I had such a good Mother's Day yesterday! I am just so thankful to be a mom and have my three sweet little boys. It's the greatest blessing ever. After church yesterday we went down to the river and had a picnic for dinner. We played at the river for a bit then had our picnic. We had shrimp salad pitas. They were SO good! Bryce had a blast playing with a water spout that they had there. He got so wet! Afterward we stopped at a little playground and let the kids play for a bit before we headed home. It was such a nice day. I'm glad I got to spend the day with my family.

Finally Moving Forward!

Last Friday the lot owner's loan closed to remove the lean from the property! That means that we can go ahead and start building. YAY! On Saturday we went to the property with the builder and plotted out the house where it will be on the lot. It's going to be so cool! We're excited. I took a picture of the lot from each of the four corners. I want to take pics through the whole building process. It'll be fun to look back on. We're supposed to start excavating this week! We'll see if he can get the excavator lined up *fingers crossed*. Here are the four pictures. The last pic is just a cute one of Bryce. He had fun playing in the tall weeds out on the lot. : )
